SAT |
What is SAT?Satyananda Advaita Therapy, SAT, is simply my way of therapy. SAT also means Truth, that which never changes, and the basis of everything (like in sat-chit-ananda). Satyananda Advaita Therapy is based on Presence, who you truly are, and how to live this reality. It is about being yourself, just as you are, without changing or manipulating anything. You are already complete, you only need to discover it. Many different methods are used for this. One of the key things is to begin to use your intuition in a deeper and more effective way. To trust what you feel and to go by what is happening inside you instead of giving a mechanical response to outer circumstances. To understand the human psyche is an ongoing passion and object of research for me. Everyone come with her or his unique world. It is up to me to find your individual door, where I can enter and where there is a mutual exchange. Then we go deeper together and we meet in That, the wordless unfathomable Presence. I have been inspired by many teachers and practices but I noticed that I was doing the therapy in my own way, very intuitively. Everything I need to know is already there if I am open and available. The goal if of course to discover who you really are. But the road is not straight. It is more about loosing things than gaining some kind of expertice. Concepts, ideas, and what we have learnt before create expectations and we don't see what is really going on. There is a need to stop, to really see what is going on to know how to proceed in the therapeutic practice. In a way it is a no-practice practice which can make the mind totally confused. But confusion and even the idea of such a thing as a mind are just ideas and have no separate reality. Different methodsThere are so many ways to work with the situation. The combination of therapist, client, and what is going on in the moment is unique and has to be addressed in an appropriate manner. The steps are usually stop, see what is going on, take care of the situation (a process of some kind), resolving the situation and integrate the experience with the conscious personality. Everyone is different and has different needs. Depending on what is dominating in your personality you respond different to different exercises. Therefore I use methods that touch various areas - the intellect, the emotions, the body, and different combinations of these three. There is also need for both letting go and to focus. Also to both receive and express. The challenge for the therapist is to find what can reach every single individual. How can the therapist really meet everyone that comes to her or him. These methods does not create an awakening by themselves but makes it easier for you to let go of your concepts, limitations, and view of who you are. The methods also makes it easier to remain awake and not loose clarity. |
