Don't give up

A long time I was afraid,
small and insecure.
But I had a spark
and a strong unyieldingness.

I never gave up,
although it took a long time.
Many detours and dark holes
and no one to lean against.

I trusted the wrong persons,
got disappointed and wanted to give it all up.
I gave away my power and my strength
to get love and confirmation.

After many years I understood:
“It’s me who it is all about!”
I took my life seriously
and decided not to lie any more.
